SMU Broadcast and Entertainment (SMUBE) was established in 2004 to provide backstage and MC support to live events. It has since expanded to provide high quality broadcast and entertainment services. SMUBE recruits and trains individuals to become outstanding artistes, crew, DJs and designers. It provides ample industry exposure for members to showcase their talents. The Festival Ambassador for SMU Broadcast and Entertainment is Nay Myo Aung.
When I’m not hosting, you can find me at:
Nay Myo: SMU’s School of Social Sciences.
I feel instantly reFRESH!ed with a cup of:
Nay Myo: Coffee.
The first thing that comes to mind about FRESH! is:
Nay Myo: A scene of flowers and greenery bathed in morning dew and waking up to the sounds of songbirds and a slight breeze rustling the trees.
SMUBE is FRESH! To me because:
Nay Myo: It allows me to pursue my passion to be an emcee and it is a vital role in making SMU arts and media scene vibrant and happening.
Can you tell us more about SMU Broadcast & Entertainment?
Nay Myo: SMUBE provides training to budding emcees and allows people to be more eloquent in public speaking. It provides members with plenty of opportunities to showcase their talents as most events require an emcee! This would build up the confidence of the speaker and may even allow people to realize their interest in hosting and they can take it up as a career!
Tell us what is FRESH! about what SMUBE is doing for SMU Arts Festival 2016:
Nay Myo: For the SMU Arts Festival, we will host the Voice Personality Hunt, which is SMU’s annual stage hosting competition to discover the next master of ceremonies. It is the largest and only stage-hosting contest on campus and the winner will receive the honour to host major school events as SMU’s official emcee. Contestants will compete on wit, humour and delivery in three rounds of competition that consummates with the Grand Final. Come and witness the emergence of the next SMU Voice Personality.
SMUBE Voice Personality Hunt finals will be held on 14 September at Festival Stage@SMU U-Square.
